Developers and Public Beta Testers Can Now Download and Install the New watchOS 9 RC Build on Apple Watch
The RC version of watchOS 9 is now available for download. If you’ve been testing out the beta for a long time, then this day is a huge treat for you. In order to download and install the watchOS 9 RC build, you need an iPhone that is already running iOS 16, but you already knew that. The update is available to you over the air right now, and you just have to follow these steps in order to get the update immediately:
Place your Apple Watch on its magnetic charger. Make sure your Apple Watch charges beyond the 50% mark. On your iPhone, launch the Watch app. Go to General > Software Update. Tap on Download and Install when watchOS 9 RC shows up.
Keep in mind that watchOS updates take an insanely long time to download and install. I will recommend installing everything right before you go to bed so that you wake up to a smooth installation of watchOS 9 RC the next morning. If you use your Apple Watch a lot for tracking workouts, then this update is a huge one for you. Not only it includes new workouts for tracking, but adds new metrics while tracking workouts, such as ‘power.’ You also get medication reminders as part of watchOS 9, which is an absolutely wonderful feature. If you have a knack for forgetting things that you shouldn’t due to your busy routine, then medication reminders will make sure you at least do not miss things that are most important to you - your health. The full and final version of the watchOS 9 update will be available to everyone next week - the 12th of September. You just have to wait a few days in order to download it. Just keep in mind that you need an Apple Watch Series 4 or higher in order to install it. Apple is no longer supporting Series 3 this year. Interested in taking watchOS 9 beta for a spin?
